Remember the “got vote?” petition campaign? Coastsiders wanted a chance to vote on whether the coastside should become a part of the Midpeninsula Regional Openspace Disctrict or not.
In November 2004 CPR joined with Citizens for Responsible Open Space (CROS) in filing a Validation lawsuit against San Mateo County and Local Agency Formation Commission and the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space. We maintain that SMC LAFCO did not follow the law in public noticing, and that people that live within the 140,000 acres being annexed by MROSD should be given a vote on the issue. CPR and CROS submitted 5507 protests. SMC Superior Judge Carl Holm on 2 Sept 2004 stated it was the “Petitioner’s right to file a validation action pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure section 863.”
